Hey. I’m Jared, and this is a blog I update from time to time.
I was born in Newfoundland, Canada, and have lived in New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates. I’m interested in lifting weights, chess, books, travel, hanging out with friends, and especially (on the rare occasion I get the chance) sitting around and doing nothing.
I’ve worked mostly as a programmer, and I have a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Auckland, where my research focused on embedded probabilistic programming languages. My blog in turn deals primarily with topics in statistics and computer science.
