I was previously a principal engineer at Fugue (acquired by Snyk, 2022), where I designed and developed the declarative data language Ludwig, and was then a core engineer at Tlon Corporation for some years, where I maintained Urbit, hacking on its compiler, kernel, runtime, PKI, and mainnet network infrastructure. Prior to all that, in the distant past, I worked with a couple of smaller startups in fintech and machine learning, and in the very distant past was a research analyst for the Canadian government.

I presently run ppad.tech, providing state-of-the-art constant-time assurance for cryptographic systems, and also lead Taproot Assets development at Lightning Labs.

I’m always happy to hear from people doing interesting things. Feel free to get in touch if you’re working on something of the sort and feel I could be an asset.

(If you’re recruiting for a particular position, please include the company name, a reasonably detailed description of the role, and rough estimate of compensation in your email.)
